Ghanaian winger Kwame Poku has been named League One Player of the Month for September after delivering an exceptional run of form for Peterborough United.

The former Ghana U23 international netted three key goals in matches against Lincoln City, Bristol City, and Leyton Orient, earning him this coveted award for the first time in his career.

Reflecting on the achievement, Poku expressed his joy and determination to keep up his goal-scoring prowess.

“This is my first Player of the Month in the EFL, so I’m delighted to win. It was a good month for me with the goals I scored, and hopefully, I can keep that going,” he said.

Poku also highlighted his development in front of goal, focusing on staying composed in scoring situations.

"I’m just trying to stay more relaxed in front of goal. That comes with experience. I enjoy creating goals, but this season it’s the goals that are coming early."

With six goals in ten League One appearances so far this season, Poku has become a pivotal player for Peterborough United as they look to continue their strong campaign.
