Ms Claudia Otchere, a seasoned labour relations expert, has downplayed suggestions that recent staff resignations at the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) indicate institutional instability, describing such movements as normal in organizations undergoing reforms.

In a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency on Sunday, Ms Otchere explained that personnel transitions, even at senior management levels, often reflect career progression, organizational realignment, or evolving institutional needs rather than distress.

“Resignations alone do not signal a crisis. The true measure of an institution’s health lies in continuity of operations, stability of systems, and its ability to meet statutory and strategic obligations,” she stated.

Addressing public speculation, she emphasized that MIIF’s operations have continued uninterrupted, governance frameworks remain intact, and decision-making processes function effectively. “Institutions are built on systems and policies, not on individuals, and MIIF’s framework is resilient enough to withstand personnel changes,” she added.

Ms Otchere also highlighted the Fund’s strong third-quarter royalties collection, noting that it points toward even better performance by year-end. She praised the CEO’s leadership, particularly her ability to maintain results despite a significant reduction in royalty allocations from 77.6% to just 2%.

“The CEO’s resilience and focus, supported by a committed Board, demonstrate that MIIF remains robust and capable of delivering on its mandate,” Ms Otchere said.

She further urged staff to stay focused and support management, stressing that measured, fact-based interpretation of developments serves the public interest far better than speculation or alarmist commentary.

The labour expert’s statement provides reassurance to stakeholders, affirming that MIIF’s governance, operational continuity, and strategic direction remain strong despite personnel changes.
