Ransford Gyampo, a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, believes that John Dramani Mahama has demonstrated leadership by refraining from blaming his predecessor for the difficulties inherited.

Instead, Mahama has assured the public that he will address the challenges, which Gyampo believes were intentionally passed on to him.

Gyampo pointed out that, in contrast to the previous government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which blamed factors like COVID-19, the Russian-Ukraine war, and even their predecessor for their failures despite eight years in power, Mahama has quickly shown his capability in government.

Gyampo shared his thoughts on social media, stating, "He takes the wheel, recognizes the incompetence of his predecessor that could lead Ghana into darkness, and chooses not to blame but to fix the issues.

He reassures the public that he will keep the country functioning despite the challenges deliberately handed to him. This is true leadership."

He further criticized those who blamed external events like the pandemic and the war, as well as their predecessor, for their failures even after years in office.
