Actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has confirmed that her nine-year marriage to Maxwell Mensah has ended, describing the decision as a peaceful and mutual one.

In an interview, McBrown opened up about the challenges she faced over the past two years, revealing that difficulties in her marriage, career, and health made the period especially tough.

She said the three areas she held most dear “fell apart” at different times, but the experience has ultimately strengthened her.

According to the celebrated actress, the decision to part ways was reached amicably after honest conversations.

“We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones. We were both tired. We sat down, talked, and decided to move on peacefully. Yes, I’m divorced. I am, and I’m not ashamed to say it. Divorce is not the end for a woman,” she said.

McBrown stressed that the separation has not damaged their relationship, noting that she and her former husband remain on good terms.

“Me and my husband are cool. We spoke yesterday. We speak today. We speak tomorrow. We meet. I go to our house, meet my in-laws and everything. We are the best of friends. We didn’t go through it like the bitter ones,” she added.

She described her daughter, Maxin, as the greatest gift from the marriage, calling her “priceless.”

Despite the emotional toll of the divorce, McBrown said she is now in a better place mentally and emotionally.

“As I speak now, I am the happiest, I am a happy woman,” she said.

She also encouraged women facing similar situations not to lose hope, adding that surviving serious health challenges alone is proof of God’s grace and a reminder that life can continue meaningfully after hardship.
