NPP’s Abronye DC remanded into police custody
9th September 2025
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into police custody by the Accra Circuit Court 9 following his arraignment on Monday, September 9, 2025.
He is scheduled to reappear before the court on Friday, September 12.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, Abronye DC was arrested on September 8 and charged with “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.” The presiding judge denied him bail.
The court action comes in the wake of reports that Abronye DC had applied for political asylum in eight countries—Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany—citing threats to his life and claims of political persecution.
