Ghanaian international Philomena Abakahmade an unforgettable start to her Serbian Women’s Super League career, scoring in Red Star Belgrade’s dominant 5-0 triumph over Milutinac Zemun on Sunday.

Abakah, who was introduced as a substitute in the second half, made her mark by netting Red Star’s fourth goal in what was an impressive all-round performance by the team.

Despite featuring in UEFA Champions League qualifiers for the club earlier this season, she began this league match on the bench.

The game kicked off with a tight contest, but Red Star Belgrade took control as Mirela Tenkov opened the scoring before halftime, giving her side a 1-0 lead.

After the break, Red Star intensified their attacking play, with Nina Matejic scoring twice in quick succession to extend their advantage.

Abakah entered the fray in the 60th minute and wasted no time making an impact, finding the back of the net in the 80th minute to push the score to 4-0. Matejic then completed her hat-trick to round off a comprehensive victory for the team.

Having joined Red Star Belgrade this summer from ASA Tel Aviv in Israel, Abakah’s debut goal in the league signals her intent to make a significant contribution to her new club.
