Rwanda’s Rurisa Patience Fidele to officiate Ghana vs Niger AFCON qualifier in Accra

Rwandan FIFA referee Rurisa Patience Fidele has been appointed as the center referee for the upcoming TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Group F qualifying match between Ghana and Niger.

The high-stakes game will take place on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 16:00 GMT.

Fidele, known for his extensive experience officiating across major international and African tournaments, will lead the team of match officials. Joining him are Assistant Referee I Dieudonne Mutuyimana and Assistant Referee II Didier Ishimwe, both also from Rwanda.

The Fourth Official role will be filled by Jean Claude Ishimwe, completing an all-Rwandan officiating team on the field.

As a seasoned FIFA-listed referee, Fidele has overseen matches in top competitions, including the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, and prior Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He was also part of the officiating team at the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations and has experience in Rwanda’s Premier League.
