Asante Kotoko legend Sarfo Gyamfi has expressed strong confidence that the Porcupine Warriors will secure the Ghana Premier League title by the end of the 2024/25 season.

Kotoko recently ended a five-game winless streak in the league with a 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

This win boosted their points tally to 18, placing them in seventh position, five points behind league leaders Bibiani GoldStars.

Gyamfi, who was present on Sunday as Kotoko secured a 2-0 win over Division One side Future Stars in the FA Cup, remains optimistic about the team’s league prospects.

Speaking to Kessben FM, the former defender highlighted the significance of the team’s return to the Baba Yara Stadium.

"I’m happy with the team’s return to the Baba Yara Stadium. We achieved a lot here before the change in venue.

I didn’t like Obuasi, so I decided not to watch our games there. We are back to where we belong, and it’s going to pay off for us."

He attributed much of Kotoko’s strength to their home ground, adding, "The spirit of the team is in Kumasi. We just have to pray for the team, but I’m sure Kotoko will win the league."

Kotoko’s next major challenge will be against their archrivals, Hearts of Oak, when the league resumes following the current break for the General Elections.
