Following recent claims by Shatta Wale and his manager, Sammy Flex, that their team had purchased a three-bedroom apartment for his mother in September 2024, Shatta Wale's mother has provided a different account of the situation.

Elsie Avemegah, the mother of dancehall musician Shatta Wale, has debunked claims that her son purchased a house for her, clarifying that the property in question was actually rented.

In an audio circulating on social media, Shatta Wale's mother was heard issuing a strong warning to Sammy Flex, who claimed that the house had been purchased. She urged him to stop spreading false rumours or face her wrath.

Elsie emphasised that Shatta Wale rented the three-bedroom apartment in Abokobi, a suburb of Accra, for two years, contrary to the speculation online that it had been purchased.

"Sammy Flex! I am calling you to warn you that if you don't stop this nonsense, I am just on my way to Atiave (a town in the Volta region), and I will deal with you. You think I am one of those useless old women... If you don't stop spreading false rumours about me that you and my son bought me a house while you only rented the building for me for only 2 years, you will regret involving yourself in this matter," she said.

Elsie Avemegah also gave Sammy Flex a three-day ultimatum to apologise to her and also clear the air or face the consequences.

Meanwhile, the uncle of Shatta Wale, who claims to have helped Elsie pack into the building, has strongly warned Shatta Wale and his management to desist from fake rumours.

"I am doing this video to warn Shatta Wale and his manager, Sammy Flex. If you are broke and want to chase clout, don't use your mother. Because I know the story from A to Z. If you know you can't take care of your mother, allow her to be because people are taking care of her. When did you buy the house for her? You couldn't even make full payment for the building. You only paid for 3 months, and you're here, and you are chasing clout with it.

"I have a bigger court, and I can summon you, Sammy Flex; you won't live even up to three days before your family buries you," he added.

Background

In July 2024, news emerged that Shatta Wale's mother's plight had worsened following what was described as 'ten years of neglect' by the dancehall musician, and this situation further sparked widespread criticism.

Shatta Wale, in an aftermath interview, addressed the backlash, where he listed his efforts to support his mother, including buying her four cars and many others.

The "Ayoo" hitmaker further indicated that his deeds for his mother had often been misunderstood and unappreciated.
