Popular radio and TV presenter Afia Pokuaa, also known as Vim Lady has called on Ghanaians to stop pampering the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government because doing so will make it live up to task.

Her comments come in the wake of many corruption allegations leveled against the current government.

According to her, the NPP government knew the country was not in good shape before taking over power from the Mahama led administration.

“…This is a government which knew the state of the nation. It’s about time we stop pampering the government. Yes, it’s a new government but they knew the state of the nation before coming to power”. She said.

The Adom FM news editor wants Minister for Special Development Initiatives and the Ewutu-Senya East lawmaker, Hawa Koomson sacked in the president’s first reshuffle. She proposed the ministry in itself be dissolved to safe the national purse.

“…My excitement is that I heard the president will be having some reshuffling in the first week of January. I think Hawa Koomson should go. Even all the ministry should be dissolved”. She added.

Having been overwhelmed by ‘high profile’ corruption scandals that have hit the one year old government, the NPP government has been struggling to come clean on the many allegations of corruption being leveled against it.

Meanwhile President Akufo-Addo has said he will not be distracted by accusations of corruption which he described as attempt to tarnish his government.

Nana Addo believes there have ‘been systematic efforts to try and tag his government with corruptions’.
