A potentially devastating fire at a three-bedroom self-contained house in Larteh was contained on Tuesday thanks to the quick intervention of firefighters from the Larteh Fire Station.

According to officials, the landlady placed an emergency call after noticing parts of the building had been overtaken by flames. Within three minutes, a five-member crew was deployed to the scene, where they arrived to find the structure engulfed in fire and thick smoke.

Witness accounts suggest the blaze may have started on the porch, though authorities say the exact cause is still being investigated.

Fire personnel forced their way into the building, conducted a sweep to confirm no one was trapped inside, and worked swiftly to cool the affected areas and extinguish the flames.

The fire was brought under control shortly afterward. Crews then ventilated the home and performed overhaul operations to remove residual smoke and eliminate any risk of the fire reigniting.
