Tiwa Savage reveals leaked sex tape was result of a bet

Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that her 2021 leaked sex tape was the outcome of a bet involving her then-boyfriend.

Speaking in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the award-winning singer disclosed that she was betrayed by someone she trusted deeply.

“I actually did that with my boyfriend. He said he accidentally pressed send when he was trying to save it. But I later found out that it was a bet with his friends,” she recounted.

The video, which surfaced online in 2021, sparked controversy across social media.

At the time, it was reported that a blackmailer had threatened to release the tape after she refused to pay money to keep it private.

Tiwa Savage explained during the interview that the recording was made without her knowledge and its release was not only a violation of her privacy but also an intentional act of betrayal.

Now, four years later, the singer says she has moved on but felt compelled to speak openly about the incident and its true origins.
