Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has disclosed that she began smoking at the age of 13 and battled the addiction for 27 years.
The actress made the revelation while sharing a testimony during a Sunday service at Streams of Joy International Church. She also spoke about past struggles with alcohol addiction, masturbation, and prolonged anger issues.
Dikeh described her experiences as a form of “demonic oppression” and said she believes she was delivered through divine intervention. According to her, significant changes began to occur after she deepened her spiritual life.
“I smoked since I was 13. God healed me from masturbation too. I have known myself to have sexual intercourse in dreams ever since I was a child,” she said.
She explained that her smoking habit developed partly because her father was a smoker, and she cautioned parents against exposing children to harmful behaviours.
The 40-year-old actress also said she was recently healed from what she described as “demonic anger,” noting that it previously affected her relationships and personal life.
Following her testimony, the founder of Streams of Joy International Church, Pastor Jerry Eze, prayed for her, declaring that “the burden of sin is broken” and describing her as “a voice in her generation.”
