The woes if of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akropong Constituency Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei are far from over as her bet to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has in a dramatic turn of events pulled out of the contest.
Mr. Frank Appiah who earlier had his fliers on social media in readiness for the constituency contest, has instead settled to contest for Eastern Regional 2nd Vice Chairman suggesting the grounds at the local level were not fertile for his re-election.
The constituency chairman has been a staunch ally to the MP and was fingered for orchestrating the removal of key contenders of the MP in the 2020 race including Lawyer Philip Addison and Mr. Twumasi
It is unclear how the MP and the Chairman fell out but sources close to the Constituency Chairman reveals he has been unhappy with the MP in recent times after being accused by the MP of playing a double game and taking monies from the MPs potential opponents. Allegations the constituency Chairman flatly denies and also accuses the MP of being ungrateful for all his sacrifices and risking his political future for her.
The Chairman’s latest move has shocked many party supporters and has become the talk of town.
With this unexpected move, the MP appears stranded and is expected to raise a new candidate to turn her fortunes around and that of her slate as the husband, Charles Bissue is also facing serious troubles in his bid to become NPP General Secretary.
