Ghanaian forward Abdul Aziz Yakubu showcased his scoring prowess with a double strike to help Rio Ave secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against Sporting CP on Sunday.

The 25-year-old, recently returning to Rio Ave following his stint in the Chinese Super League with Wuhan Three Towns, continued his impressive form by finding the net twice, tallying four goals in three games for his side.

The action unfolded at the Estadio do Rio Ave, where Umaro Embalo opened the scoring for Rio Ave in the third minute with a spectacular strike.

However, Sporting CP quickly responded, with Morten Hjulmand equalizing in the ninth minute, followed by Viktor Gyokeres putting them ahead.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu leveled the score for Rio Ave with a coolly converted penalty kick deep into first-half injury time. He then secured his brace from another penalty in the 67th minute, once again putting Rio Ave in the lead.

Sporting CP, however, fought back valiantly, with Sebastian Coates finding the net in the 73rd minute to salvage a point for his team.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu's standout performance adds to his tally of four goals in seven matches for Rio Ave since his return to the club in January, further solidifying his impact on the team.
