Asante Kotoko's recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League have taken a toll on the players, with captain Danlad Ibrahim admitting that the situation is causing sleepless nights for the team.

Describing the current state of affairs as "very, very bad," Ibrahim expressed the team's disappointment over their winless streak of seven games, which has seen them plummet from title contenders to just three points above the relegation zone.

The unrest among fans reached a boiling point when supporters disrupted a training session on Tuesday, demanding the removal of Coach Ogum. Despite management's decision to retain the coach, tensions remained high within the club.

A pivotal meeting convened at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Thursday, where club owner Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II called for calm and expressed confidence in Coach Ogum's ability to lead the team through this challenging period.

Taking responsibility for the team's poor results, Ibrahim apologized to the supporters and vowed to do whatever it takes to turn things around.

He said, "We would first like to apologise to our supporters because we know they don't deserve this type of result and the things that are happening in the team. However, we want to assure them that we will do whatever it takes to turn things around."

He acknowledged the weight of expectations placed upon the players and expressed determination to restore pride to the club.

The captain revealed the personal toll of the team's struggles, noting that many players are unable to sleep as they contemplate their desire to achieve success for Asante Kotoko and their own careers.

He added, "It's very, very bad because many of us cannot even sleep, considering what we want to achieve for Asante Kotoko and our careers; these results don't reflect positively upon us as the playing body. We understand that such occurrences come with the job, but all we need to do is to change things around now, focus, and work harder. Otherwise, it might get worse."

With a crucial fixture against league leaders Samartex looming on Sunday, April 21, Ibrahim and his teammates are focused on bouncing back and reclaiming their form.

They recognize the urgency of the situation and are committed to putting in the necessary effort to reverse their fortunes on the pitch.
