The International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague has sentenced the former Congolese warlord, Bosco Ntaganda, to 30 years in prison.
He was convicted in July of 13 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
His offences include rape, sexual slavery and ordering massacres of civilians in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Bosco Ntaganda surrendered to the ICC in 2013 when he walked into the US embassy in the Rwandan capital, Kigali.
Bosco #Ntaganda is sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment. The time he has spent in detention at the #ICC – from 22 March 2013 to 7 November 2019 – will be deducted from this sentence.
