Five Fulani Men have been arrested in connection to a robbery that to place at a fuel filling station at the Asante Mampong of the Ashanti region.

The five suspects, are  Inusah Brimah, Iddrisu Amidu alias Jogo, 34 years, Hamidu Zonogor, 48 years, Kofi Bukari alias Mipeller, 42 years and Musah Haruna.

The robbery which happened on Friday March 2 saw the the robbers making away with a sum of GHC 11,000 from the fuel station. The robbers were also successful in making away with GHC 3,000 of a mobile money vendor in the area.

Speaking to the Press, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Ken Yeboah said, “The Patrol team after leaving the filling station extended their patrols towards the Mampong-Ejura Road. Whilst patrolling, they spotted an Opel Astra Taxi Cab with registration number GW 9311 V with two occupants on board at the kofiase junction. The patrol team became suspicious and accosted them but one of them escaped leaving Inusah Braimah who was then driving the vehicle”.

He added that, upon interrogation, all the five robbers admitted to the crime of robbery.

He added that, upon investigation, the police discovered six (6) empty Supreme FTB BB and AAA, 32GR 70 MM cartridges.

After Inusah Braimah was abducted by the police, a search was conducted in the taxi he was driving and it revealed an amount  GHC 1,000 and this prompted the patrol team who questioned him further.

He led the police to a bush where they retrieved two shot guns, eleven live supreme FTB BB and AAA, 32GR 70MM catridge and two torch lights.

He later led the police to Memenaso, a suburb close to Ejura in the Brong Ahafo region where his entourage were arrested, the police are still searching for the rest of the members as it was revealed that there are more people in the gang.
