Richmond Lamptey, former Asante Kotoko midfielder, is set to join Rwandan giants APR FC as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with the Reds.

The central midfielder is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Rwandan side.

Lamptey’s move to APR comes after a successful three-year stint with Kotoko, where he made 17 league appearances and provided five assists in the just-ended season, highlighting his crucial role for the Porcupine Warriors.

Despite battling injuries, the 27-year-old was integral to Kotoko's Ghana Premier League title triumph in 2021.

A product of the West African Football Academy (WAFA), Lamptey also represented Ghana at the international level, making the Black Stars' final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire.

His experience and skills are seen as valuable assets for APR, and his signing is considered a significant boost for the team.

Lamptey expressed his eagerness to make an impact in the Rwandan Premier League and contribute to APR's upcoming campaign.

With his expertise and experience, he is expected to be a key player for APR as they aim to make a remarkable impact in continental competitions.

This move marks a new chapter in Lamptey's career, and he is poised to bring his wealth of experience and dynamic play to APR FC.
