Fast-rising Ghanaian musician, iOna Reine has joined the myriad of female musicians who have expressed their immense dissatisfaction about the nature of some female Ghanaian musicians.

According to her, most of her female colleagues are not pushing the music industry enough as compared to the men.

She explained that, the music industry is dominated by men because, the female artistes aren’t pushing hard enough and has, therefore vowed to break the barriers.

iOna narrated that, “My main target is to fly the flag of Ghana internationally because I have realized that our female musicians become relax when they gain popularity in the country. I cannot tell what they are doing background but I think they are not doing enough. Apart from Efya, Wiyala and Becca having some collaboration with some Nigerian artists I have not seen others getting international collaboration or something like that and so, my target is to move out of here”

“To me, female musicians here have not done enough but it may be my expectations for them are too high. Talking about the men, we have seen the likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and others featuring musicians from other countries and this tells you that the male artists are pulling their weights" she added.

So it was during that period when I discovered that talent”
