A 13yr old boy from Cincinnati has been charged as a juvenile with the murder of his 80-year-old grandfather, Fowler Agenbroad.

The teen was being cared for by his grandpa after his mother and father both died of drug overdose and neighbours say they had an uneasy relationship.

Fowler Agenbroad was found unresponsive and suffering from head trauma at his home on August 5, 2016 and prosecutors believe his troubled grandson may have put his head through a wall in their home.

Residents said they fought constantly and authorities didn't do much to help despite being called to the home numerous times on reports of a missing juvenile, domestic assault and juvenile problems.

Neighbor Kim Hart said:

'Everything the child did, the grandfather would blame his son, the child's father -- 'You're going to be like him.' 'I don't know what happened in that house, but I want people to know there's fault on both sides of the fence,'
'They failed the grandfather. They failed the child,' she said of the system.

Agenbroad was reportedly a deacon and avid visitor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, and frequently brought the boy for Sunday School and Sunday morning services. The boy who cannot be named or pictured because he is a juvenile denied charges of murder and reckless homicide and is being held in a local youth detention center until his next court appearance on March 24.
