At least two persons are reported dead in an accident that occurred between two cargo cars on the Bunso-Anyinase stretch of the Kumasi-Accra highway.

The accident occurred around 6am Saturday morning when a cargo bus loaded with heavy duty machines collided head-on with a Benz cargo car loaded with charcoal.

It has been discovered however that the cargo Benz also had packages of dry leaves suspected to be Marijuana underneath the charcoal.

According to an eye witness, two persons died on the spot with possible more deaths to be recorded.

The police and fire service team as at the time of this report were on the scene trying to save those trapped and later clear the road.

However, heavy vehicular traffic is said to have occurred making it difficult for passengers heading to both Kumasi and Accra make their journey.

It is advised that travellers use other alternative routes to avoid been caught up in that heavy traffic.

It would be recalled that 55 lives perished in the Bono East Region while 8 others also lost their lives in the Central Region, with several other people sustaining various degrees of injuries in two separate accidents on Friday, March 22, 2019.

Scores of passengers on two huge buses, one, a VVIP bus and the other, an old bus, perished in the ghastly head-on collision that happened on the Techiman-Kintampo road around 2 a.m. on Friday at Ampomakrom within the Pamdu Electoral Area of the Bono East Region.

The Central Region crash involved a Metro Mass Transit bus with registration number AS 2951 – 10, travelling from Accra to Diaso, and a Yutong bus with registration number GN 4368 – 14, travelling in the opposite direction.
