Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan had arrived in Ghana ahead of Black Stars' 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda next week at the Tamale sports stadium.

Other invited players are expected to arrive on Monday.

The 30-year-old has peaked at the right time after he grabbed a sensational brace for Al Ahli in their 3-2 win over Al Shabab in the UAE League Cup on Thursday.

Gyan, on loan from Shanghai SIPG, has netted four goals so far despite not operating at full fitness level.

The Black Stars captain is expected to provide inspiration for his country ahead of their qualifier against the Cranes at the Tamale stadium.

The Ghanaians will be seeking a perfect tonic in the race to qualify to the global showpiece in Russia with seven-time African champions Egypt to contend with in their group.

Meanwhile, Gyan is expected to join Kwesi Nyantakyi’s welcome event today in Accra after picking a slot on FIFA’s Council.

Ayew returning home
In a related development, Unibank brand ambassador, Andre Morgan Dede Ayew is also expected in town today alongside Betway officials who are expected to share their expertise with 20 Ghana Premier League coaches.

This engagement will take place at a sports clinic at the Lizzy Sports Complex in East Legon on October 5 where coaches and footballers will be taken through practical fundamentals of football, and will be followed by a workshop at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on the 6 of October 2016 where they will be exposed to modern football trends.
