Ghana will host the Super Green Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers.

The two legged tie will determine the team that will head to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

A key sponsor of the Super Green Eagles Double Three , “33” Export Lager, the official beer for the Super Eagles is excited about the pairing as they believe they can help Nigeria reach Qatar.

There has been a long standing rivalry between the two nations which spans more than 50 years and that will be rekindled when the two sides clash in the make or break tie in March.

Nigeria despite their outstanding form ended up as the champions of the group stages as they crashed out of the tournament in the round of 16 one place better than Ghana who were humiliated in the group stages as they finished last in a group that had Comoros, Morocco and Gabon.

Senior Brand Manager of 33 Export Lager, Aisha Anaekwe reacting to draw says its a difficult one but hopes the Eagles will triumph over their eternal rivals.

“Playing against our eternal rival, Ghana will bring out the fond memories of the previous encounters between the two teams but the next encounter in March to us is the most important one and we charge the team not to relent in their effort to reach the finals of the World Cup for the seventh time,” she remarked as reported by Guardian Nigeria.

Ghana will host Nigeria before playing the second leg in Abuja in a week's time with the matches coming off between March 22-29.
