Out of a total of 28,766 candidates who sat for the first teacher licensure examination, only seven candidates possessed a Master’s Degree.

3,885 candidates were First Degree holders; 24, 687 were Diploma students and 187 were Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) certificate holders.

This was contained in a press release by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Tuesday, 17 September 2018.

A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit at GES, Ekow Vincent Assafuah, said the National Teaching Council (NTC), which organised the examination, has acknowledged success in the first edition.

The statement admitted some problems during the examination such as late start and rumours of a leakage of the paper ahead of the sitting.

The release added that the NTC will release the results in the middle of October.
