Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is set to wear the number 90 jersey at new club Al-Ahly Dubai after completing a loan transfer move.

The former Al Ain player joined from Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG on Wednesday.

Asamoah posed for his official welcome photo at Al-Ahly where he had his named on a number 90 jersey.

The 30-year-old is known for his preference of the number 3 jersey which has become a trademark for the former Sunderland star.

Asamoah Gyan speaking after his transfer move to the United Arab Emirates said:

“I want to say to all fans in UAE that I am back to UAE, I am back home. The relationship I had with people was fantastic so I had to come back and continue the relationship.

“And also I like to thank the fans of Al Ain so much. We had a great four seasons. Everything was great. I want to thank the fans for the love.

“I thank everybody so much for the love.”

Black Stars coach Avram Grant has named his captain in his squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Rwanda.
