Missing schoolgirl found dead in Kasoa water body

The body of a missing schoolgirl, Gloria Segoe, was discovered late Monday night in a water body in Kasoa, Awutu Senya East Municipality, by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a rescue team was dispatched to the scene at 10:02 p.m. on June 23, 2025, following a report of a missing person. After a 40-minute search, the team recovered Gloria’s body at around 10:42 p.m.

Reports indicate that Gloria was in the area to visit her boyfriend at the time of the incident. The exact circumstances leading to her death are still unknown.

The body has been handed over to the Ghana Police Service, which has launched a full investigation. The boyfriend is currently in police custody and is assisting with inquiries.

Authorities are urging members of the public with any relevant information to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
