Carlos Queiroz has praised the dedication and professionalism of Ghana’s national team technical staff following an intensive month-long scouting and performance monitoring exercise ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars head coach revealed that the technical team had spent the past month closely tracking Ghanaian players both locally and abroad as preparations intensify for the global tournament.

According to Queiroz, the exercise which ran from 11 April to 11 May, involved extensive match analysis, player scouting and medical assessments aimed at building a competitive squad for the World Cup campaign.

The former Portugal and Iran coach disclosed that the staff compiled more than 200 detailed video reports for individual player analysis while monitoring 170 matches across different leagues and competitions.

He added that 75 players were placed under continuous scouting observation, with 30 others watched directly during live matches.

The technical exercise also included detailed assessments of players’ fitness levels, tactical performances and medical conditions as the coaching staff worked to evaluate potential squad options.

“Behind every future success, there is invisible work, sacrifice, discipline, and countless hours of commitment,” Queiroz said in the statement.

He commended the Black Stars’ backroom staff for what he described as their “professionalism, loyalty and tireless spirit” during the demanding assignment.

“The dream of a National Team is built every single day through dedication, competence, attention to detail, passion, and responsibility,” he added.

The remarks come as Ghana step up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars are hoping to make a stronger impact after disappointing campaigns in recent tournaments.

Queiroz, who recently took charge of the national team, is expected to announce his provisional squad in the coming weeks as Ghana finalise preparations for the competition.

The Black Stars will begin their World Cup campaign in June, with expectations high among supporters for a return to the team’s competitive best on the international stage.
