Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has been shortlisted for the 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season award following a remarkable campaign that has seen him emerge as one of the league’s standout performers.

The 25-year-old is among a star-studded list of nominees that includes Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice, David Raya, Gabriel Magalhães, Morgan Gibbs-White and Igor Thiago.

Semenyo has enjoyed the best season of his Premier League career, registering 20 goal contributions, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists. His tally also makes him the third-highest scorer in the league this season.

The Ghana international continued his impressive form on Wednesday night when he scored in Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace as Pep Guardiola’s side maintained pressure in the Premier League title race.

The result leaves Manchester City two points behind league leaders Arsenal, who sit on 79 points with two matches remaining.

Semenyo’s nomination has been widely celebrated by Ghanaian football fans, with many describing it as another major milestone for Ghanaian players in Europe’s top leagues.

The forward’s consistency, pace and eye for goal have made him one of the Premier League’s most influential attackers this season, earning recognition alongside some of the biggest names in world football.
