The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has put applicants on notice that passport submissions left incomplete for two months from the date of application will be automatically cancelled, in a move aimed at streamlining the passport processing system.

A public notice issued on May 15 outlined the categories of applications affected by the new policy, including those with outstanding vetting processes, missing supporting documents, incomplete biometric capture, or pending recapture procedures.

Applicants whose submissions are cancelled under the directive will be required to restart the entire process from scratch, including making a fresh payment.

The Ministry was explicit that fees already paid in connection with cancelled applications will not be refunded under any circumstances.

To avoid the inconvenience of cancellation and the financial implications of losing a non-refundable fee, the Ministry urged all applicants to ensure every required step is completed promptly and within the two-month window.

Members of the public who require clarification or assistance regarding their applications have been directed to reach the Ministry through its 24-hour call centre on 0302 754200.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient and quality passport services to Ghanaians.
