A 2018 finalist on hit Atinka TV show Di Asa, Anita, has hinted that she is being pursued by general-secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah.

Although the nature of the supposed pursuit is not known to us, it is easy to infer from context that Anita means the general-secretary would love to develop a very friendly relationship with her. This was revealed in an interview.

Mr Asiedu-Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, is a vocal and controversial politician. He is actually well-known and liked despite his very defensive positions in his party's corner.

The Di Asa show is a dancing competition organised Atinka TV. Its selling point is the fact that it pitches plus-sized women against each other and leave it to teeming live audience to judge.

The show's first season was hugely successful pilot that did well to market the TV station at its beginning. Producers then decided that one good turn deserved another.

It is not quite clear if the NDC general secretary had indeed tried to get in touch with the dancer, Anita. But she said in the interview: “Now my number is very busy. The number of complimentary cards I get, I can’t even count. I heard General Mosquito is seriously looking for me…”

We however cannot speak to whether General Mosquito really likes plus-sized women or whether he likes Anita in particular.
