Residents and traditional authority of Jacobu a suburb in the Amansie Central district have expressed worry and their utmost displeasure over lack of toilet facilities in the area.

According to the residents, the lack of lavatories there, has forced them to attend to nature’s call in the bush or in black polythene bags, which they later dispose of at the communal dumpsite, a situation that threatens the health of the community.

The Aboabo community through its Unit Committee Chairman Kwadwo Agyare is therefore calling on the government through the Ministry of Special Initiative and Development to provide them with some.

“Our biggest challenge here is lack of toilet facility. We have no toilet. We’re appealing to Minister of Special Initiative and Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson (Hon.) to come to our aid.”

However speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders expressed frustration about the situation.

Meanwhile 3 communities in the district which are Fiano, Abuakwaa and Fiankoma have started benefiting from 3 10-seater water closet facilities.

These projects are being funded from the $1 million per Constituency Initiative as government priority projects.
