Ghanaian rising star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been left out of Sporting CP's preseason squad for the 2022/23 football season.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined the Green and Whites two years ago on a long-term contract that extends until 2027.

While Issahaku has shown great promise in the youth team, his opportunities in the first team have been limited, making only 12 senior appearances last season.

Unfortunately, he has failed to make a strong impression on manager Rúben Amorim, which resulted in his exclusion from the preseason squad.

Recent reports suggest that Issahaku is unlikely to continue his journey at Estadio Jose Alvalade, with a price tag of €15 million being rumored for his potential departure.

Notably, Issahaku represented the Black Meteors in the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations a few weeks ago. Despite his efforts, the team was unable to secure qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Looking ahead, Issahaku will be seeking a new challenge elsewhere for the upcoming season.

The talented young midfielder hopes to find a club where he can showcase his skills and continue his development.
