Ghanaian youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his disappointment with his side 2-0 defeat to Marseille in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.

"Painful lost last night but as a great warriors we get back stronger we are together" he wrote on his Twitter handle.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku marked his UEFA Champions League bow for his Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday evening.

His side was beaten 2-0 by French giants Olympique Marseille 2-0 at their own backyard.

Sporting midfielder Ricardo Esgaio was shown a red card in the 19th minute of the game and the Ghanaian was brought on as a replacement for Japanese Hidemasa Morita in the 22nd minute.

Matteo Guendouzi and Alexis Sanchez were both on target to help Marseille record a 2-0 away victory against nine-man Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League this evening.
The former Arsenal duo scored within the space of 10 first-half minutes in between two reds cards awarded to Sporting's Ricardo Esgaio and Pedro Goncalves.

After securing a 4-1 win at home against Sporting in the reverse fixture last week, the Ligue 1 outfit enjoyed more success against their Portuguese counterparts, and tonight's victory has seen them climb up to second place in Group D.

Ruben Amorim's side have slipped down to third place but they are level on points with Marseille, while Tottenham Hotspur have moved to the summit of the group courtesy of a 3-2 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
