Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiyu has packed out of his room given to him my the club following the expiration of his contract.

According to Light FM, the dependable centre-back has packed his bags and luggage from the team’s residence in Kumasi.

Ganiyu is believed to have felt disrespect after the management of the club failed to offer him a fresh deal but waited for his contract to expire despite his incredible showdown this season.

The Black Stars defender has been a sensation in the Ghana Premier league this season, forming a solid partnership with Yusif Mubarik in the heart of defence for the Asante Kotoko.

Ganiyu is reported to have attract interest from several clubs in Ghana such as Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak, Legon Cities among others. He has also received offers from Europe and the Middle East.

His outstanding performance this season earned him a Black Stars call up where he played in AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and a friendly game against Ivory Coast.

The 25-year old performed extraordinary in the Black Stars shirt when he was handed the opportunity, becoming one of the top defenders in the local scene becoming an important figure in the national team.

He joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal from fellow Premier League outfit Karela United in 2018 and currently out of contract after the end of the 2020/21 league season
