Former Accra Lions midfielder Abdul Rashid Abubakar celebrated a significant milestone by scoring his first goal in the Moldovan Super League, leading CSF Spartanii Sportul to a 2-0 victory over FC Florești in Round 8 of the competition.
This win marked a historic moment for Spartanii, as it was their first-ever victory against Florești, who previously held a record of five wins and one draw against them.
The match began with a strong performance from Spartanii, with Serghei Turcan putting them ahead in the 9th minute.
Abubakar then extended their lead in the 24th minute with a well-placed strike, giving the home side a commanding advantage by halftime.
Despite Florești's attempts to mount a comeback, Spartanii's defense remained resolute, securing a clean sheet.
With this victory, Spartanii Sportul climbed to 5th place on the league table, amassing 11 points from 8 games.
They now face a challenging encounter against league leaders FC Sheriff on October 5th. Abubakar's debut goal could prove pivotal as Spartanii aims for further success this season.
