Abdulai Gazale has officially stepped down from his role as head coach of Basake Holy Stars, with strong indications pointing to an imminent move to Accra Hearts of Oak as assistant coach ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The former Asante Kotoko interim manager tendered his resignation earlier this week, ending his tenure with the Nzema-based outfit after just one season.
Though brief, his time at Holy Stars was seen as impactful, earning him further credibility within local football circles.
Gazale rose to prominence during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, when he took over Kotoko in a caretaker capacity and impressed with his tactical acumen and calm leadership.
Since then, he has continued to develop a reputation for nurturing young talent and tactical flexibility.
His expected appointment comes on the heels of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani's unveiling as head coach of Hearts of Oak.
With the club embarking on a major rebuild following a turbulent 2024/25 campaign, Gazale's arrival is viewed as a calculated move to strengthen the club’s technical bench.
Hearts are targeting a return to elite status in Ghanaian football, and the combination of Dramani’s experience and Gazale’s modern coaching approach could prove instrumental in reviving the Phobians’ fortunes.
