Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has emphasized the importance of unity among the club’s supporters and stakeholders, urging them to rally behind the team without resorting to insults.

Ouattara made this appeal during his post-match press conference after Hearts secured a vital 2-0 victory over Bechem United, marking their first win of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season.

The team had entered the match under considerable pressure following back-to-back losses to Basake Holy Stars and Kpando Heart of Lions.

Second-half goals from Ransford Mensah and Hamza Issah were pivotal in clinching the much-needed win for the Phobians.

Reflecting on the match, Ouattara stated, “The fans, we are working for them. You can criticize and express your opinions, but please, the insults are not what we need. We need unity.

All parts of Hearts of Oak, all structures coming together—when we are united, I believe we can achieve good results. Hearts of Oak has a significant project ahead.”

Currently, Hearts of Oak stands 10th in the 18-team league table, and the coach is hopeful that this victory will ignite an improved performance in their upcoming fixtures.
