In a riveting encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, Aduana Stars and Accra Lions battled to a pulsating goalless draw on Monday afternoon.

Despite the host's dominance throughout the game, resolute defending from the two-time Ghana Premier League champions prevented any breakthrough.

Accra Lions displayed early promise as Remember Boateng's cross found Yahaya Mohammed, whose attempt was met by Blessing Asuman at the far post.

Midway through the first half, Aduana Stars' solid defense thwarted Dominic Amponsah's chance from connecting with a clever pass from Yahaya Mohammed.

Amponsah came close twice before halftime, narrowly missing the target on both occasions.

After the interval, Kelvin Obeng threatened with a shot, but Accra Lions' goalkeeper Andrews Owusu remained untroubled.

Mohammed Yahaya found himself through on goal later in the game, courtesy of Amponsah, but his effort was calmly gathered by the Aduana goalkeeper.

In the second half, substitute Abdul Shakun Abubakar almost broke the deadlock after connecting with a precise cross from Daniel Awuni, only to be denied by a remarkable save from the Aduana shot-stopper.
