Ghana Premier League leaaders AAduana Stars are of the conviction that If there is any team that should be allowed to represent Ghana at the CAF Champions League it should be them as they currently lead the log.

Ghana Football is at a crossroads like most leagues the world over due to the novel coronavirus pandemic that has grounded football to a halt.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has gave the GFA up til 5th May 2020 to furnish them with a decision whether to continue with the league season or annul it.

They were also to confirm which clubs will represent the country in CAF inter club competitions for next season but have asked for a two week extension.

Aduana Stars are of the firm believe that the league should not be annulled but we should wait for the virus to subside before continuing.

Some persons have suggested that Kotoko and Ashgold winners of the NC Special competition should represent the country next season but Aduana Stars disagree.

Communications Director of the Ogya boys believes the GFA should not open a pandora box that will elicit legal tussle from them should they go ahead to select Kotoko and Ashgold.

“Arguments of Kotoko and Ashgold representing Ghana in the next CAF inter-club competition are without basis. Aduana stars were the winners of the last legitimate league played in Ghana.

“The NC competition wasn’t a league, it was used to solve a temporal problem. We will test the law if that decision is taken, it will be unfair to us”, he told Kumasi FM.

It still remains unclear when the Ghana Premier League can start as the coronavirus pandemic seem to to be ending anytime soon.
