Ghana's shameful exit from the African Cup of Nations has duly been noted by the Confederations of African Football(CAF) as for the first time in a long while the Black Stars did not have a single player in CAF's Technical Study Group's team of the groups stages.

The team of the group stages is to reward deserving players who shone during the group stages of the tournament.

Egypt and Al Ahly goalie Mohammed Elshenanawy is in goal whiles PSG and Morocco's Achraf Hakimi plays at right back with Ivory Coast Ghislain Konan playing at left back.

In Central defence, Nigeria and Watford's William Troost-Ekong partners West Brom and Egypt's Ahmed Hegaxy.

The three midfielders are Brighton and Mali's Yves Bissouma, Liverpool and Guninea skipper Naby Keita and the Gambia's Musa Barrow.

The three man attack is made up of leading top scorer and Cameroonian captain Vincent Aboubakar, Morocco's Soufiane Boufal and Nigeria's Moses Simon.

There was no place for any Ghanaian player in CAF's best XI.
