Ghana coach Chris Hughton has named his starting lineup against Cape Verde in their opening group game at the Felix  Houphoet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Richard Ofori has been chosen in the post while Alexander Djiku and Salisu Mohammed have been given the nod as the center-back pair.

Veteran Dennis Odoi and Gideon Mensah play at full-back while in the middle, Baba Iddrisu plays alongside Majeed Ashimeru in what appears to be a double pivot.

Jordan Ayew, Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer, and Joseph Painstil will play behind the lone man Antoine Semenyo.

Unsurprisingly there is no place for Mohammed Kudus in the squad as he came to the tournament with a minor injury.

Ghana will be hoping to win as Egypt was earlier held by Mozambique and move to the top of Group B.
