The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a record 20 media rights partnerships covering more than 30 European territories for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), significantly boosting the tournament’s visibility and commercial strength.

The competition, set to kick off on December 21, 2025, in Morocco, will now be accessible to millions of viewers across Europe, including the African diaspora, underlining the growing global appeal of African football.

  • United Kingdom: Landmark deal with Channel 4, broadcasting all 52 matches free-to-air for the first time.

  • Spain: Partnership with Movistar, expected to attract strong viewership due to Spain’s close football ties with Morocco and its sizeable Moroccan community.

  • Greece: Return to nationwide free-to-air coverage via ERT.

  • Norway: First-time free-to-air coverage through VGTV.

  • Italy & Netherlands: Sport Italia and Ziggo Sport to continue coverage, building on strong audiences from the previous AFCON.
