Kudus Mohammed, the West Ham and Ghanaian midfielder came close to making a move to English Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer, but the transfer ultimately collapsed.
The agent of Kudus, Jennifer Mendelewitsch, shed light on the reasons behind the failed transfer.
Mendelewitsch explained that Kudus had agreed to personal terms with Chelsea, indicating his willingness to join the London club.
However, the deal fell through when Chelsea presented low-ball offers to Ajax, the club Kudus was leaving.
The agent also pointed to several factors that contributed to the transfer's failure.
The impact of Moises Caicedo's transfer from Brighton, among other variables, played a role.
Mendelewitsch believed that Kudus would have been a suitable addition to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and expressed her disappointment that the move didn't materialize.
She stated, "He [Kudus] wanted to leave, there weren't 50,000 clubs who needed a midfielder and could afford him. Obviously, we offered him his profile at PSG. Now, it's the club's choice not to move forward. All clubs have the right to decide that they go to another profile or that it is not their priority."
"It's a shame because I think Mohammed Kudus would have been a suitable profile," Mendelewitsch added. "We reached an agreement with Chelsea, we agreed contractually with Chelsea but the deal did not happen. He spoke with the coach [Pochettino] but in the end it didn't happen."
While Kudus Mohammed's move to Chelsea didn't materialize, the midfielder continues to ply his trade for West Ham in the Premier League.
