The Asunafo North Municipal Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture,(MoFA), Mr. Eric Aduamah is currently in the grips of Goaso police over missing 14,500 bags of fertilizer meant for farmers under the Planting for Food and Jobs policy.

The embattled government official allegedly could not account or produce names of beneficiary farmers for the missing bags of fertilizer following a special audit undertaken by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture into the programme.

At least an amount of GHS 946,000 has been lost through the negligence of his office, hence his arrest.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 Fm, the Regional Minister for Ahafo region, Evans Opoku Bobie, disclosed he reported the case to the Police-CID to take over for further investigations to be carried into the case.

“When the team finished the audit and reported the case to me, I called him into my office and questioned him but of-course he attempted giving all sorts of explanations which could not add-up. In effect, he couldn’t account for farmers who were given 7400 and 7097 NPK bags of Uriar fertilizer government supplied to the Asunafo North office of MOFA in 2017/2018 crop season. So I personally called in the Police to take over the case. He’s since been in the grips of the Police and assisting investigations.”
