It has emerged that; the key suspect in the murder of undercover journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale is playing hide and seek with the police.

The latest development came to light after a Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer appeared on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen to comment about the gruesome murder of Ahmed Suale.

According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, the key suspect told the police he was out of the country on Wednesday January 16 2019 when the murder happened but extra checks revealed it was untrue.

“Some people told the police they had traveled when in fact they were in Ghana. Do you think the police is joking?, he quizzed.

Meanwhile, Hon Egyapa Mercer did not immediately name the said key suspect.

He also revealed that the perpetrators who committed the crime have been identified.

“Even the people who committed the crime have been identified and I’m more than definite that the police will get to the bottom of the matter”, he opined.

The deceased, Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot and killed by two assassins as he left his family house ostensibly to go take care of his sick child on Wednesday, 16th January, 2018.

Many have blamed the MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong who had splashed pictures of Ahmed on television and on many social media platforms after the premiere of Number 12 documentary which exposed the rot in Ghana’s football.

The Minority in Parliament has called for Mr. Agyapong’s arrest for what they say was his role in the killing of Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

Kennedy Agyapong last week promised to fully cooperate with investigators to unravel the murder as he claims he knows nothing about the murder.

Meanwhile, the Police stated in a release on Monday that they had interrogated the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The Sekondi MP disclosed that some interested parties in the case who declined police invitation claiming to be outside the country were actually in Ghana.
