The family of the late investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, has demanded an unqualified apology from Kennedy Agyapong, following the death of its son.

The family has blamed Ken for exposing the identity of Suale who was a key partner of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The family members believe that Ken’s action exposed their late son to public harm which consequently led to his sad demise.

Abia Musah Mukaz, a family member who spoke with the media, said they were still outraged by the utterances of the NPP MP even after the death of their relative.

He added that their “boys” were furious and wanted to attack Agyapong but they were restrained, therefore, the MP must apologise to the family or face its wrath.

"Our boys were really furious and had wanted to attack the Member of Parliament, we just had to restrain them...We want peace, so he (Kennedy Agyapong) should do the needful and apologize," he added.

The family members had earlier said they were giving the security agencies a one-week ultimatum to find Ahmed's killers or else they would take action.

According to the Muslim rites, Suale was laid to rest on Friday, January 18, as earlier reported by YEN.com.gh.

He worked with Anas, but unfortunately, the last investigative piece they worked on, ‘Number 12’, led to many controversies which has eventually caused his death.

Ken Agyapong had unmasked him in an attempt to spill out his identity and that of Anas to the public.

Ken's action, according to a leaked Whatsapp message Ahmed sent to a group, landed him in trouble because since then, “powerful people sought to kill him”.

Ahmed reportedly told the group that “there were hints in many quarters that the very man who published his pictures in the public domain wanted to quell his existence”.

He was shot dead on Wednesday night at Madina in Accra, while he was driving home by unidentified men on a motorbike.

An eyewitness narrated how the assailants had lurked in the area from afternoon waiting for night to fall in order to kill him.

Though Ahmed tried to dodge the bullet in an attempt to save his life, his killers were said to have followed him into a hairdressing salon to fire the last shot there killing him instantly.
