Hon. Nana Osei Bonsu, the District Chief Execuive (DCE) of the  Kwabre East Municipality in the Ashanti Region has sparked his rage on reporters over the clashes between some Zongo youths and the Akans in the Ahwiaa a suburb of the region yesterday saying there has been exaggerations in the report.

Speaking on a local based radio station in the region the DCE stated that the facts were not reported accurately by journalists belonging to the different media houses across the country.

He said, “You are not being fair and helpful to the situation at all….if you start reporting that the Zongo and Akan youth have clashed it is just that you are not telling the truth”.

“As reporters do your investigations and assessment before you come to me for my side. You don’t have to report any untruth”, the chairman told journalists who were interviewing him about the possible cause of the latest clashes.

“You are just exaggerating and I will plead with you to report accuracy”, he added.

He further called for military interventions over the situation while confirming that one person is dead as a result of the clash and those who were injured in the process are responding to treatment in the hospital.

“I can confirm one person is dead as a result and others who were injured are responding to treatment”.

“We need police and military intervention”.

He added that the District Security Committee (DISEC) are yet to schedule a meeting to impose a curfew in order to calm tension in the area.

Investigations have however commenced to establish the cause of the clashes between the two sides.
