NEW DELHI: Clearly, the data war of the telecom industry is not going to end any time soon as telcos seem to be revising and introducing new plans in order to keep their subscribers hooked. Last week BSNL revised its prepaid plans and now the country's leading telecom operators Airtel and Vodafone have also revised their existing prepaid plan of Rs 169.

As reported by Telecom Talk, both Airtel and Vodafone have revamped their Rs 169 plan for its prepaid users. After the revision, Vodafone offers 1GB data per day under Rs 169 plan. The plan comes with the validity of 28 days and the subscribers get the total data of 28GB. Similarly, Airtel is also offering 1GB data per day under the same plan. Earlier, Airtel used to offer 1GB data for the entire 28 days and now it has fixed the daily limit to 1GB.

Along with the data, both the service providers offer unlimited national and local calling with 100 SMS per day under the plan.

Apart from this, Airtel has also revised its entry level plan of Rs 99. The company has replaced the Rs 99 plan with Rs 119 plan. The plan comes with the validity of 28 days and users will get 2GB of data for the entire validity period. Under the same plan, Airtel users will also get unlimited calling and 300 SMS for 28 days. The customers can opt for the plan via My Airtel app.

The Rs 169 plan of Airtel and Vodafone will compete against the Rs 149 plan of Reliance Jio. The Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom operator offer 1.5GB data per day with unlimited local and national calling and 100 SMS per day under the plan of Rs 149. The plan comes with the validity of 28 days and users get a total data of 42GB.
