2:52 p.m President-elect Speech: Acknowledges his veep and his wife as well as the rank and file of the party. Overwhelmed by all happenings since the victory. Thanks to all Ghanaians, supporters of the party and the clergy. Ghanaians have proved since December 7 that we can and proved that we can do it when called upon. Thanks to the faceless people who contributed in numerous ways to ensure that everything went well in a true faction of Ghana.

Ghanaians are a blessed people who must appreciate the grace of God and must continue to have His abundant favors. He said the NPP set out saying they knew it would be difficult but they said the Battle is the Lords and he has fought it for them. They agreed that they were David but kept heads up and set forth with firmness and unwavering conviction. Habakkuk 2 vs3

It has been a long journey to get to the presidency but kept going knowing the Battle is the Lords. He spoke about how rough the journey has been, going through deep valleys and stumbled but each time they came close the doors were shut in their faces. Nana Akufo-Addo said they kept the faith that in His own time they will get there better prepared.

During the up's and down's, he said they took solace in Psalms 27vs 14 and worked with the full knowledge that God will fight their battles.

Heartbreak to have missed Jake Obetsibi Lamptey, Adams Mahama, JB Danquah Adu, Peter Pepera Wiafe, Kwabena Boadu and Abubakar Sidik and other fallen soldiers who are not around to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Grateful to successive generations who have stood for freedom and justice to get the party to where it is. Their spirit of sacrifice and service inspired their party to keep moving ahead especially the campaign managers who worked for the victory.

He said he is in the debt of all those who went around with him around the country especially Allan Kyeremanten and Otiko Afisa Djaba

Diana Asamoah, Egya Koo, Praye Tiatia, Praye Tintin and other stars who left their comfort to come to the rugged terrain of politics to help. He also thanked the media for taking their messages to the people.

He said he is eagerly looking forward to working with his Vice president-elect whose knowledge would help to turn the situations of Ghanaians around.

He also thanked his wife Rebecca and Samira both of whom he said contributed their time and effort to get the party elected adding they deserve a book of their own.

Nana Akufo-Addo thanked those who gave their windows might to keep their campaigns afloat. He called on all Ghanaians to act with kindness, generosity and magnanimity and forgive others who might have hurt them and remember the battle is the Lords.

He said there is a lof of work ahead noting they will perform with the support, prayers and full support of the almighty God.

The President quoted Isaiah 40vs31 encouraging the supporters to renew their strength for the work ahead.

"I have no doubt that with God on our side we will succeed as the battle is still the Lord," he ended his speech.

2:14 p.m: Preaching: Thankfulness - Rev Canon J.A. Nelson of the Accra Ridge Church focused on the essence of thanksgiving which he said is a natural part of every being to thank His maker. Thankful people are joyful in Philippians 4 vs 6-7. Peace of God comes from being thankful. Unsatisfied people are discontent and are not thankful for God's provision. Isaiah 23vs 3 speaks of the peace of mind of being thankful.

He reminded the incoming government that their security is from God and they should be thankful for how far God has carried them. Told Ghanaians to be grateful for the peace and the strides made with democracy. Ghana standing united is one thing all should be grateful for.

He said thankful people are practical and they show love as in John 15vs13 and they love their neighbours as themselves

Servant leadership to govern Ghana warned of those who come to power to be served instead of being serving in gladly while being thankful to God.

Ghanaians voted for change but the change can come about if all Ghanaians change their attitude at work, in the society and in professional work. Change can never happen unless all put shoulders to the wheel and push the nation forward. Thankful people bless others as God.

He said Arrogance is one of the ugliest expression of a person who is ungrateful and degrades the one serving.

Thankful people honour God.

Prays that the good Lord gives the President-elect and his Vice the spiritual vision to lead and bless Ghana.

2:08 p.m: 3rd Bible reading - This is read by the President-elect from the Book of Psalms 66 vs 8-12

Praise our God, all peoples,
let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives
and kept our feet from slipping. 10 For you, God, tested us;
you refined us like silver. 11 You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs. 12 You let people ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Rev Bempah said God spoke to some of them [pastors] that He has chosen Akufo-Addo to lead Ghana to glory and it has come to pass that the revelation is here

The thanksgiving service is themed: “We will rejoice in thy salvation and in the name of our God. We will set up our banners. The Lord fulfil all thy petition, Psalm 20:5.”

Vice President-elect, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, all the party’s Members of Parliament-elect and the leadership of the party, will be in attendance, a statement from the party said.
